This blog is dedicated to Jesse and Maya's Wednesday morning section of Introduction to Experience Design at the Ontario College of Art and Design, Winter 2009.
Drinking Domino -The game is simply laid out as a number of drinks taken per domino tossed? -is there some way of tailoring this toy concept to a wider user base? -Do you need a full domino set or only a few?
Who is ...Winning? -This I am assuming is a quiz game. It seems simple in its layout although annoying in the use of small pieces. Can the trivia questions be chosen by the players? any parameters to its use?
Nude X Cube -a rubix cube with nude images. Simple in design. As easy to use as a rubicks cube (which for me is not easy).
Roll Em -Similar to Drinking Domino, a take on kings. This can be tailored to be used by a wider base by substituing drinks for more social questions.
Weight Distance -Pick up a selection of weights and carrying them a prescribed distance using chopsticks. It seems self explanatory, difficult to use but interesting in the competitive nature. It also seems to have a high replay value as it implies improvement with practice.
Experience design is the practice of designing products, processes, services, events, and environments - each of which is a human experience – with the specific focus of the design activity being the quality of the user experience. In turn, the quality of any experience is a combination of factors which include individual or group needs, desires, beliefs, knowledge, skills, experiences, and perceptions. Experience design combines technological innovation with social innovation, psychology, linguistics, cognitive science, architecture and environmental design, information design, ethnography, brand management, interaction design, service design, storytelling and heuristics.
