Puzzle Proposal

What is it?

This toy is a spherical puzzle that can be
used  as an interactive object that serves a decorative purpose as well.  Wh
en finished, the puzzle forms a hollow sphere with several organically shaped holes.  The pieces of the puzzl
e are held together with strategically placed magnets.
The pieces themselves are made of recycled paper which easily lends itself to being produced in many colours, finishes as well as within a series.  The puzzle is, quite simply, a toy from trash and therefore latches on the world's newest a
nd hottest trend of being green.  Using a recycled product as the main material has great cost benefits for both the manufacturer and the consumer.

Why is it fun?

The puzzle is fun because it is level of difficulty is appropriate for the adult demographic.  The number of pieces fool the user into believing it is a simple puzzle, however, upon trying to place the pieces together, the would see it is not so.  The more challenging the puzzle is for the user, the greater the satisfaction
when it has been completed.  This puzzle does not comes with a picture of the sphere from one angle without any lines to show the shapes of each piece.
Beyond this object functioning as a toy, the reasons for purcha
sing this object are part of the reason it is fun.  When constructed it creates a beautiful object for display and interaction while always remaining a conversation piece as it is green.  This will make consumers not only want it, but buy it.

Improvements After Testing

Most of the suggestions were based on construction.  The magnets were altered from being on the edges of the pieces to being embedded within them.  The finish has been mad
e more consistent and smooth.  Also, with the final product, an image of the puzzle solution has been provided.
