Documentation Team

THE DOCUMENTATION

1) Movie

Olivia will be taking care of documenting the event on film including the progress of the intervention as well as the actual game from one person's journey through it.

2) Booklet
Kaitlynd, with the help of the rest of the members, will be doing a mini booklet (quarter-size to 8.5x11in paper) to be handed out to the class as a keepsake of the project. It will:

- Explain briefly the game instructions
- Game in progress (people taking/ripping lives)
- Document the winner
- Show a "Behind the Scenes" look
- Have a complimentary button to be given to the class members

Andrea will be taking care of the photographs during the event.

3) Website
Jeannie will be taking care of the website (getting the domain name, layout design/coding). The website will be hosted on a personal server. It will essentially be an online version of the booklet, but with more information. It will have the following pages:

- About (how we created the event)
- The Game (instructions and buttons displayed)
- The Event (how it unfolded)
- Gallery (our photos of the event)
- Where are they now? (allows people to tell us where their button is now and their experience with the event)

These pages may change.

*WE NEED A NAME FOR THE EVENT SO WE CAN CREATE A URL FOR THE WEBSITE*
(which is needed for the buttons, I believe)

THE COSTS
  • Booklet: each takes up about two 8.5x11's totaling at 50 pages total. We only need to print one good colored version of the booklet, and take colored photocopies of these pages (about $0.40 at Staples). We will probably end up stapling the pages down the middle. Total: $25 but could change if we add/subtract pages
  • Website: $10 for domain name if we're able to get a free server which is likely
Estimated Total: $35
* if we do some pages of the booklet in black and white, the cost of it will be lower

  1. this sounds great.. the name of the event is "predator vs prey"

im sure $35 for everything you plan to do for documentation is fine.. it all depends on the total cost for the buttons in the event.

i will be confirming this as soon as i get the total price for the buttons.

as far as the web hosting.. how long will we have the page for?

  2. can you also post onto the blog the website for our event.. (when you know what it is? asap hopefully) so that the buttons can have that on them?

  3. We'd have the website for a year (it's $10 per year to buy the .com name). I'm getting the server for free since I'll be using my sister's.

If the event turns out really successful/popular, my sister will renew the website (we don't need to pay anything).

  4. Also, I'm aiming to get predator-vs-prey.com (or something similar) this weekend and have atleast something up.

I will need finalized instructions, event information (location, time etc), button designs from the other teams asap or else the website will be empty.
